The name of the Dutch soccer club comes from him. As ancient Greek has no "J" his name was spelled Aias and pronounced as it's spelled in Greek. In Latin and English the name is spelled Ajax and pronounced as it's spelled. In Dutch the "J" has a sound similar to "Y." The Dutch took the Latin spelling of Aias's name but gave it their pronunciation.
